  • W.C.Y. Lee, Mobile Cellular Telecommunications. A classic for cellular fundamentals. Reuse geometry, traffic engineering, all there.
  • Theodore S. Rappaport, Wireless Communications: Principles and Practice. Modern cellular and propagation. The standard reference for C/IC/I, fading, MIMO.
  • Timothy Pratt, Satellite Communications. Detailed link budgets, transponder architecture, ground stations.
  • Bradford Parkinson and James Spilker, Global Positioning System: Theory and Applications. Two volumes from one of the original GPS architects. Definitive.
  • Holger Karl & Andreas Willig, Protocols and Architectures for Wireless Sensor Networks. Comprehensive WSN overview.
  • Adrian Perrig, John Stankovic, David Wagner, Security in Wireless Sensor Networks. Survey of attacks and countermeasures.
  • Jeff Hecht, City of Light: The Story of Fiber Optics. Not directly about wireless, but understanding why backhaul is fiber clarifies a lot.
  • Karthik Pattabiraman, et al, Security Issues in 5G and Beyond. Survey of recent attack research.
  • 3GPP technical specifications: TS 23.501 (5G architecture), TS 38.211 (5G NR physical channels), TS 33.501 (5G security).
  • The Starlink technical papers and FCC filings are surprisingly readable and well worth the time.
